Training & Development

Clinic

Volleyball training events and clinics led by Tri Bourne, a world-class beach volleyball professional and co-host of the SANDCAST podcast.

About the Clinics

Tri's clinics are built around the same fundamentals he uses on the World Tour: ball control, serve mechanics, movement, and reading the game. Sessions are geared toward beach volleyball players who want to sharpen their game with a professional's approach.

Tri's home training base is in Redondo Beach, California, where he trains year-round after a native upbringing in Honolulu, Hawaii.

  • Beach Volleyball Skills

Drills and reps focused on serving, passing, setting, and attacking patterns used on the professional circuit.

  • Game IQ

Reading the sand, positioning, and decision-making during live play situations, drawn from years of tour competition.

  • Movement & Footwork

Court coverage and body positioning work for players looking to move faster and stay balanced through long rallies.

Beach volleyball clinics led by Tri Bourne focus on the same fundamentals he applies on the World Tour: ball control, serve mechanics, movement, and reading the game. Sessions are designed for beach volleyball players who want to sharpen their skills with a professional's approach, breaking down each element into drills that can be taken back to regular play. Tri's training base in Redondo Beach, California, is where he trains year-round after growing up in Honolulu, Hawaii. That combination of island roots and a Southern California home base gives his clinics a relaxed, working-athlete feel rather than something overly formal.

Beyond the court, Tri Bourne is among the world's elite class of beach volleyball players and one of the hosts of beach volleyball's popular SANDCAST podcast, where athletes and coaches talk openly about the game, its culture, and the demands of a professional season. His own path includes two years away from the sand while fighting an auto-immune disease, a story he shares with the broader beach volleyball community. That perspective shapes how he teaches: practical, encouraging, and grounded in real experience rather than theory. Clinics offer a chance to absorb that approach directly, in a small-group setting.
